Max To Maxim Timeline
In 1987, the Nike Air Max and its visible window of air revolutionized shoe cushioning. It was such a success, Nike might fairly be blamed for the international air shortage of 1994 (with oxygen masks randomly deploying on airplanes and children crying over limp balloons). But history, however damning, must be chronicled. So our friends in Beaverton had us to create a timeline to chart the evolution of the Air Max, from its origins to the 2009 Air Maxim. The timeline shipped globally as a kit for installation in retail and gallery spaces. After the dust settled, over 30 years worth of shoes, biographies and anecdotes had been woven together using wild illustrations, simulated polaroids, giant racing bibs and reams of masking tape.
